First Give-away!

Okay, friends and neighbors, I'm here to announce our first ever giveaway.  That would be the first ever John and Paige blog give-away!   I know the anticipation is killing you, so while I have your attention I would like to mention that T-bird is trying to run by walking fast.  He can so far walk faster than I can crawl, but I'm not giving up!  The weather here has warmed up to 41.0 degrees Fehrenheit.  Go weather!  Alright.  The moment we've all been waiting for!  The exclusive giveaway item is a sweet smelling, beautiful forest-green Christmas tree!  Only used once, and as alive as ever relaxing on our back porch.   How do you become the winner?  Simple.  Comment below to enter by telling me: 1. Why you should deserve the tree above other worthy contestants, and 2. How soon you can come pick it up.   That's all folks!

Birthday Cake

The voting stands thus: Animals won with an overwhelming majority.  I'm sorry I messed up the comments so you probably couldn't comment after Thursday.  I'm counting emails at this point.  And we (the royal we) will be considering your opinions heavily while making "our" decision.   The most interesting vote, fyi, was "a mommy cake."  We'll see about that. I hope you are enjoying the weather.  Today it has been 18.5 degrees F since 8am.  I have nothing to say about that.  Also, check back soon because tomorrow will be my first-ever blog giveaway!  I will not be giving away a blog.  I will be giving away an item of great importance ON my blog.  And no I'm not telling what it is before tomorrow. Love you all- my adoring fans, LeMira and MariAnn.

Birthday Cake

So my dear mr. birthday boy hasn't requested any styles of birthday cake, so I don't have a lot to go on.  I'm accepting ideas for all kinds of cakes.  I'd like to narrow it down to a bug cake, animal, cartoon, architectural structure, or famous person.  I will accept votes and comments with persuasive arguments for and against certain types of cakes.  I'm also looking for a good recipe.  You may only vote for one category.  I will have new votes for the kind of cake once I've eliminated lesser categories.  If you have good ideas for another category let me know. A. INSECTS i.e. cake in the shape of a lady bug or a cochroach. B. ANIMALS, examples include bears, puppies, and dinosaurs fit here. C. CARTOON: I'm thinking Snoopy, Mickey, Captain Underpants, you name it. D. ARCHITECTURAL STRUCTURE, as in a rollercoaster or skyscraper.  No small plastic people jumping from the roof.  Sorry. E. FAMOUS PERSON, this would include people we like to honor and eat choco...

THE GMAT

Since John's taking the GMAT this Friday, and I don't want him to stress about it, I wrote him a poem. John is going to be taking the GMAT But we hope the long sit won't make him fat. If he's bad at it he'll say, "drat!" I wish I had known a rat who could sneak me correct answers "just like that." When it's over he'll escape like a bat out of hell or a witches hat that blew off her head as she landed on her cat. John will drive home and his friends will say where've you been at? And John will tell them how he sat, and sat, and sat while taking the GMAT.
The Blog has waited long enough for photos of T-bird strutting his stuff. Videos will even be coming along if my adorable hubby hasn't had enough. This month celebrations will include upcoming photos of advent-uous glee. I hope to learn cake making and decorating skills without fee So I can post cake-demolishing without fear. Wish me luck in January people and check back here. Big Shoes to Fill. Why do ALL the toys end up in the wastebasket? Spacial reasoning anyone? I told you we got a lot of snow over Christmas. At least I told my mom. Mom LOOK. I'd say a foot and a half on the roof. Brrrr. Best gift.

January !WARNING! Long Post! So much to say...

I'm so excited about January I can't wait to get on with 2009 but at the same time, I can't possibly pass over our vacation to California! Aren't you relieved that a good portion of it was actually January and not December? December is so outdated. We had such a great time! Thomas slept on the plane on the way there, took great naps during the trip, played nice for Grandma and Aunt Leah while Dad and Mom partied the night, or nights respectively, away. We were able to drive about 5 hours total the day we arrived, in 4 separate occasions, as well as our plane ride, and we still consider ourselves lucky, being that we flew, were healthy, ate steak, and were together as a family. I especially enjoyed the fun chats I had with my in-laws. Little shopping trips here and some Nintendo Wii there. A tiny serving of The Twilight Zone, and a large helping of swing dancing the night away! I got so much shopping in I think I will be good for at least another week. Then off t...
