Midnight Snack

Peach Water Cinnamon on Toast Milk I was tired at 9 pm. I was more tired at 10 pm. I was uncomfortable and my belly was in the way at 11 pm. At 12 am I considered going to bed. At 12:10 am I dove into the covers. They were so inviting, and I felt all cuddly and sleepy until Mr. Wilson came in and adjusted the fan in the window for a few minutes. And then a few minutes more. And then stopped. And then we talked about saving money. And about rent. And about saving money on rent. At 12:40 am I looked at the clock and thought, "I will most likely still be awake at 1. That is too late for me." At 1:01 am I realized I was hungry and thought of cinnamon toast. At 1:08 am I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep until I went pee. At 1:09 am Mr. Wilson said maybe I would sleep if he stopped talking to me. At 1:10 am I promised myself cinnamon toast at 3:00 am if I was still awake. At 1:12 am I decided that if Mr. Wilson was not talking to me, I might as well go pee. At 1:13 am I...

Colorado

I promised to have the film developed, and today after paying the exorbitant small town pharmacy price I am delivering my promised pictures. I remember thinking how classic this picture would look, in the shade at the gas station where we stopped to relieve ourselves, and yet the sweltering heat seems to be seeping into the photo, our eyes glazed, a yawn on Tbird's lips. I have already spoken to you about the nifty park we found and here's a shot for you of the train. I stayed behind to take these stunning photos. And to use the bathroom on the other side of this bridge from the petting zoo. Brown Bear Brown Bear what do you see? I see two blue eyes looking at me. And dang, what fine legs you have Mr. Blue Eyes. Here's Thomas at the petting zoo with Grandma Root before he warmed up to running around chasing the ugly Turkey and Aunt Jill's sweet pig.

Correction- I know your father

Okay so it's trEEn not tren, my bad. As in train and weigh. Today I was too tired to do potty training. Is that bad? I think I'm not ready. I'm too lazy to keep setting the timer, to provide liquids T will actually drink quickly, to accept days without any success. I ate all the fruit snack rewards myself. I'm not giving up by the way, I'm just taking my time. So far we're at the "I recognize when I am actually going and maybe the second before" stage, so I'm looking for more along the lines of "I have to go, I'll meet you in the bathroom" stage. Last night I couldn't sleep! I am obviously in the 3rd trimester. I dreamed when I did sleep that I had an overflowing avocado tree, and that some small creatures ate my tomato plants and left all these huge red tomatoes right on the ground. At one part, I was chewing out the animals for eating the branches. They seemed more cognizant than I usually am while dreaming. There wer...

Potty Training

So today I introduced Thomas to his "tren" (Thomas the Train) underwear and that was fun. He was so excited and pointed again and again and said "tren, tren tren!" Thomas didn't get very much sleep last night, but he was pretty good and not crying or fussy really. We tried it out, and we're 0-2 in the toilet. 1 he told me he had to go but then ran away, and went before I got him into the bathroom a minute later. I was totally psyched out because he said he had to go poo poo, I mean how was I supposed to know that means pee pee? With 2 (that would be second #1) there was no warning, and I decided I was ready for a diaper, and then 20 minutes later ready for naptime. I feel okay about that. We tried about 10 times for a go but we just got lots of reading time. He was overjoyed to discover (again) that the Thomas books have trains on EVERY page. It's great. When we watch movies with Thomas and he sees something he likes he asks for more, and when ...

BLOGS

Isn't BLOG one of the weirdest sounding words? Blog. BOg. Bra. So I love to check out Cake Wrecks every once in a while, and since I was thinking sweet thoughts to my hubby, this post seems most appropriate: http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/2009/08/whats-that-supposed-to-mean.html

Pictures!

This next post begins with Thomas' Aunt MariAnn. Thomas has been trying to say her name all morning, and it ranges between something like mean-man to me-ah-yann-yann. My favorite sounds like Welcome to Miami, Vienvenido a Miami (mee-ah-mee). Unfortunately for the creative interpreters he has finally solidified his adaptation semi-permanantly as Me-Ann, which sounds very much less exciting than a 5 syllable rendition. Since he has named his Aunt Karyann Key-Ann, Me-Ann makes sense but I have to admit I was hoping he would keep up Me-ah-yann-yann... So MariAnn is John's sister and she has blossomed into a talented historian. Or in otherwords, she does a great job of photographing every event. While we were in Colorado visiting John's Grandma, MariAnn let us copy her pictures onto our computer so tada! When we develop our film, I promise to add some more. We went to a fun park, and here were the amenities: A river runs through it for the children, complete with bridges. (Tho...

99 Days!

I really like the idea of being on this side of pregnancy, entering the 3rd trimester. I feel like I can finally allow myself to be excited now because 3 months is short, and I can wait that long. Not for all things, but for a baby yes.
