Happy Memorial Day!

I was glad to see my grandparents this weekend putting flowers on headstones nearby.  Thomas was really cute with Grandpa and sat in the car with him gabbing.  It was really low key and informal but really nice.  I learned (or relearned) a tiny bit.  My grandpa that is buried down the street is my great grandma's dad.  I didn't think any of my relatives here were like direct and for-realz relatives, shows you how much I know.  And he had 15 children!  He died in 1911, which comes as a great relief because that is why I don't remember him.  I was thinking how can I not know him?  So that is why we do geneology, right folks? We did the American BBQ tradition and everything, so good job John for lighting the coals and stuff...  We had a fun celebrating John's friend's birthday, eating cake, being sprinkled by sprinklers during dinner at 5pm, etc. Thomas has been enjoying playing outside so much these days I am seriously collecting amazing winter ideas because I can...
Don't forget to vote for my time in the 5k on Saturday!   -----> Here's a spectacular close-up of John, baby T bird, and myself after the race last year!  Awesome news!  Maybe there's some error, but I looked up mine and John's times from last year and the official time record says 36:21.  Now that is funny if it's true.  I feel so encouraged!  I will surely finish in 35 minutes or less, don't you agree?!   So T bird's dear friend who lives across the street has a difficult-for-T bird-to-pronounce name, but he is obsessed with saying it from the time he wakes up until the going down of the sun.  After noticing yesterday the way her name fit into everything I decided to keep a daily count today.  So far we are at 17, and he is taking his afternoon nap.  By the way, I am resisting the urge to also count all the times he says, "Where is she?"  I'm so honest. mmm... rasberry Just a note, but Tahitian Noni fruit chews are addi...

5K

I planning to run the Live wElle 5k and what do you think my time will be? Need extra info before you hit the polls? Last year John and I mostly walked and jogged and finished in 42 minutes. In high school when I was in awesome shape I ran 3 miles in under 25 minutes. This year I've been running, but not every day.  Last week I was sick and I didn't run at all.

New Post

DEAR BLOG Well I have had so much going on I couldn't blog it all, and now here I am with a full life and an empty blog. What a horrible friend I am to you, Dear Blog. Well let's see, for starters I FOUND my ipod which I had lost back in January or February. It was in the pocket of my apron I believe. Found it in the middle of the living room floor all by its lonesome. Bring on running, rocking out in the car, and looking stylish with white headphones coming out my ears! Do I really wear an apron that infrequently?! JOHN was ACCEPTED into the BYU MISM! He is now a MASTER's student! Woot woot! This means for sure we have two years left of school, and our lives are that much less scary and unplanned. He is all registered for classes, and excited to be taking specific and deep love classes instead of random hard and not-his-favorite classes. In other words, he thinks his schedule looks pretty good for the next while. T bird is learning to squeak and squawk all kinds ...

The Best Day

This morning, with the sunny breeze blowing in through the blinds, the warm covers pulled over me, and T bird still sleeping at 8 am, I thought to myself, "This is the best day of my life." I couldn't believe it was even possible for my baby to sleep in at all, let alone past 7. Yesterday at the doctor's he recommended that I leave T bird in bed until 7 am (even if he cries) because he should sleep past 5:30 or 6:30. So this morning as he was making his first cries out at 5 I hoped he would fall back asleep. I wouldn't be able to handle crying from 5-7. It seemed he would cry out and then fall back asleep about every 15 minutes from 5:30 until 6:15. Once we hit six I remembered John's words from the night before, "Don't plan on actually sleeping from 6-7 just because he's in bed." I began dreading the next half hour. And then looking back at the clock it was only 6:15, forty five minutes to go seemed like an eternity. He cried off an...

May

Happy May 1st! Here's a shout out to a handsome husband: Good job John for getting Awesome grades this semester and for doing your homework like a good boy should! You rock my world Mr Man! I'm impressed with your skills- nunchuk skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills. We are anxiously waiting to hear whether he was accepted into the Master's program. Actually that would just be John since the rest of us are sure he'll make it :) So prepare your blowguns the cheering should ensue in a couple weeks. I mean we will be on pins and needles for the next couple weeks until we find out if John was accepted into his program -cross your fingers! As T-dawg hits the independent age of 15 months he is sitting at the table, drinking out of a cup every chance he gets, eating with a fork, and asserting his independence in every way he knows how. Fortunately, that's a short list for now. I hope to post some videos soon now that the Johnmeister is out of school a...
