April

Thought I'd blog every week this year.

I was wrong.

My sister is Engaged. My baby can sit up unassisted. And rollover. And giggle. A lot. I have Queen stuck in my head. Is it just me or do the songs Killer Queen and If I Only Had a Brain sound like they were made for each other? I learned today that as much as I like crumbled Gorgonzola cheese romantically dispersed on my salad it's fairly gross in bulk. John got an internship at LucasFilm in San Francisco. That means we will be spending the summer in colorful California. It will be a long and luxurious vacation. I already packed Spencer's clothes. A week ago. I am beyond exited. It will be the best time; we're going to see family family family and play games and visit national parks and parks with swings and slides and stuff. Then my sister will get married, John will be best friends with George Lucas, the kids will know some of their cousins, and we'll have a summer full of memories! Maybe John will even know what he wants to do with his future. That would be cool too.

Right now I'm trying to sell things we don't want to store for the summer or longer, find cheap storage, and discover some of the fun things we are interested in doing this summer. I'm looking forward to my sister's graduation from high school. I'm also planning her sweet 18. It will be rockin'. If you are lucky you will be invited.

I got your message and I promise I will call you back. We will be living between Sacramento and San Francisco (Vacaville-Travis Air Force Base). We definitely need to get together this summer.
I'm so excited because I think I'm part of the family family family you are going to see! I can't believe that it was a year ago that you were at my house.
Big congrats to John!!! and your sister of course though I don't think I'll be lucky enough to get invited to the party... I will have to throw one for you!!
P.S. I totally think Spencer is going to look more like you than Thomas does. You are so lucky! Kylie looks just like Karl... = )
That's great John got an internship! That will be fun to live in San Fran for the summer! Your boys are cute!

Granola Recipe adapted from a Smitten Kitchen Recipe

My friend just made these and gave ME some!  I feel so honored!  They were really crispy and clustery- new word?  So I'm sharing them with you.  Love, Paige   6 c. Old Fashioned Oats 2 c. shredded coconut 2 c. Rough chopped Almonds (I pulsed in the food processor 5-6 times) 1 c. Wheat Bran 1 t. kosher salt 1 t. cinnamon Combine all dry ingredients then add these wet ones. Stir until covered. 1/4 c. Olive Oil 1 c. pure maple syrup 3 egg whites  Whip until they are frothy and pour into oat mixture. Stir until combined.  Spread on a lined baking sheet, pressing it down gently. Bake for 40 minutes at 300. Turn large portions of granola like you are flipping a pancake. (trying to keep it clustered) Bake for 15 more minutes at 300. Check to see if its golden brown all over. If there are any patchy spots. Turn the granola one more time and bake for 5 minutes.  Let it cool and crispify on the baking sheet. Enjoy. Or...

A Pregnant Post by Paige about Pregnancy

Here's the belly progression: 6 Months 8.5 Months Warning! This post may contain personal musings about pregnancy. It may read like a journal. It may contain baby excitement and overall feelings of joy. So I have been stepping on things lately. Mostly toys. How is this possible, you ask? Those of you familiar with my adroit walking skills may be puzzled at this point. I know I was until I took a shower this morning. And I couldn't see my feet at all; not a hint of them, no toes, nothing, not even when leaning forward could I see anything but a belly button sun on the horizon of a large earth belly. And that is why I've been stepping on things. Thomas' toy hammer, a plastic giraffe, the zipper of John's coat . . . The loss of my peripheral vision going down is apparently complete. I can't see where I am stepping! What a frightening feeling. I have also been walking into common household objects with my belly. Doorknobs and chairs. Major medial disco...

Myrtle Beach

Recently we moved to Myrtle Beach, SC.  It has been quite the adventure so far, including moving across the country by car and being out of our home for 9 days before receiving our new house keys.  We have been to the urgent care a couple times and the hospital getting a finger glued back together and a forehead stitched up.  We drove between storms of snow and tornadoes, safely arriving in what we Wilsons consider summer weather, but we have been told to wait until July for the real humidity and heat. Our charming house is twenty years old and very cute.  It has kitchen dining and living rooms downstairs and bedrooms up. It was getting a little awkward when we purchased our electric lawn mower online and then waited several days for it to show up. We have made new friends with our culdesac neighbors, church members, and cub scouts. One of our favorite things is our neighborhood pool at the end of our street, six houses down.  We are really happy that Spen...
