No matter how much I love this stroller I will always love it more because I got a great deal on it. I've had this stroller for almost 2 years, and I'm expecting my 3rd son so I'll be breaking out the car seat part again and I'm really glad I have it. I definitely consider the Joovy indispensable baby gear. I bought this instead of a double umbrella and I also have a jogging stroller, so this is my walking and traveling go to one.
I read a million stroller reviews before making this decision and others that seemed cool were more breakable, or gigantic, etc.
My kids are 1 and 3 weighing 20 and 30 pounds respectively and very average height. They enjoy the stroller. I've even had 3 kids in the back before when I was walking with their moms and they hopped on for fun. Of course you wouldn't purchase it for more kids but it's nice to know that it's possible.
Favorite Pros:
Toddlers like standing, having the standing part in the back is genius.
I like that it doesn't look like every other convertible carseat, the uniqueness is refreshing.
Folds compactly like a single stroller
Easy to maneuver especially with a small child in front, the heavier the front child, the heavier the stroller and harder to go over bumps, turns, etc.
When folded up, the locks are pushed down on the wheels so you can stand it up against the garage for example, and it won't roll and fall down.
The tray is handy, more for snacks than drinks, but a sippy cup can just stand on the tray, and the goldfish can stay in the cupholder so I don't really care about the size issue.
It's very easy and fast to put an infant seat in the front when the attachment is on.
The rear seatbelt is a lifesaver for retail stores.
It was important to me that this stroller easily turns around clothing racks and fits in tight shopping places. It's already tough with kids so nice to fit easily.
The light weight of the stroller is convenient for pulling in and out of the car quickly and not looking retarded in the parking lot
I like the long handle for whatever reason, and my diaper bag easily slips over the handle and then stops at the sit and stand kid's handle so it's there for easy access. It probably hits my son in the head occasionally, oh well ;)
Cons:
Sometimes my stroller sticks when I try to collapse it
The front seat (bottom part for baby's tush) slopes forward and looks shallow and I feel like my baby's going to slide right out without the tray; probably because he has fallen out before. I can't remember if he was buckled or not, but he wiggles and turns sideways. I always buckle him now and both shoulder straps don't stay, so it's important to check the seatbelt occasionally, and tightening it as needed.
The stroller is so dang long in the trunk with the sunshade on. In August it's totally worth it to me to leave it on, but otherwise it's annoying in a sedan trunk. Now that I have minivan it's not really an issue.
Sometimes the footrest in the front gets caught under the tray and it's hard to figure out why it won't open. I think the front foot rest is cheap and flimsy but it also contributes to the lightweight and convenience of the stroller.
The seat is trying too hard to do too much, none of which it does well. It's not cushy or soft, doesn't hardly recline at all, is hard and uncomfortable for the rear child, especially over bumps they can hit their head, and it has pockets which are too small to hold anything.
I think the joovy parent organizer should just come with the stroller for free and the seat should be ultra padded on both sides, or at least the top half of the rear side and more padded in the front. Can you imagine how luxurious that would be?
My other recommendation would be for the rear seat to lock into position in the front or back, or even into 3 positions. Every parent I know with any kind of sit and stand has brought that up to me that they slide and the kid moves too far for comfort.
All in all this is a good stroller. I didn't buy it to be the most impressive comfy smooth ride ever, I got it for convenience and affordability.
