I must not dust enough because today as I was waving my nifty lamb's wool pouf ball-on-a-stick around T-bird was giggling the whole time! As if to say, "Mom I have never seen you do that before, it's so silly. In fact why are you wiping the Piano with it? Or the TV? Hahaha. . . this is great!" Let me tell you I was rethinking my cleaning habits. It must have left a big impression because my meditations have led me to my blog rather than to my shower...
Okay, I realized that I haven't blogged T's birthday party because I don't have the pictures of the cake, then I realized that I DO have the pictures of the cake. So view the pictures of the cake below. Enjoy!
Oh, and I have bad news. . . We have not been doing our push-ups. I thought you would make a great fan club but sadly, evenings are not convenient for me and alas, I have no motivation without Mr. Wilson so here I am weak armed typing this to you weakly. Just wanted to catch you up on that.
Birthday Party

Discussing last minute decorating

This is T's individual cake for demolishing. Given the circumstances he didn't really need one, but we felt that a 1 year old's first cake wreck is something that must be recorded for family history.

The cake. I decided on a pirate cake because it was so cute, not because I was really wanting a pirate theme. Since none of T-birds friends could come because he was sick no one noticed the lack of streamers, and pirate paraphenalia. The freckles ended up looking like zits, since they're orange. Since my chocolate icing was expired the pirate was a bit sunburned instead of tan. I think that's pretty authentic. I mean, he's new to pirate-hood and in turn, full sun.

I know he's masking his feelings about the cake, but if you look carefully
you might get an idea of how he really feels.

That's true. John you were amazing. You followed clear verbal plans from a highly detailed and demanding woman on the phone. Under stress of a deadline no less, with a mother-in-law hovering over your shoulder. You should get a prize. Or a present. See today's post for yuletide details.
