I was glad to see my grandparents this weekend putting flowers on headstones nearby. Thomas was really cute with Grandpa and sat in the car with him gabbing. It was really low key and informal but really nice. I learned (or relearned) a tiny bit. My grandpa that is buried down the street is my great grandma's dad. I didn't think any of my relatives here were like direct and for-realz relatives, shows you how much I know. And he had 15 children! He died in 1911, which comes as a great relief because that is why I don't remember him. I was thinking how can I not know him? So that is why we do geneology, right folks?
We did the American BBQ tradition and everything, so good job John for lighting the coals and stuff... We had a fun celebrating John's friend's birthday, eating cake, being sprinkled by sprinklers during dinner at 5pm, etc.
Thomas has been enjoying playing outside so much these days I am seriously collecting amazing winter ideas because I can't imagine life outside playing outside. So far I have forts, movies, snacks, playdates, fingerpaint, playdough, waterballoons in the bathtub and thats about it. PLEASE SEND ME GOOD IDEAS!! and you can buy me stuff too, like movies. :) just kidding...
THE RACE:
Thanks for voting! It was fun to have a poll on my blog for the first time ever.
Okay, so do you know that book unfortunately, fortunately? It goes something like this at parts, fortunately I saw a hay stack to break my fall, unfortunately I missed the haystack, fortunately I landed in something soft... unfortunately it was manure, etc. Bet you'll never guess where I found this image:

Fortunately, By Remy Charlip
Well unfortunately I ran slower than I had hoped, coming in at 29:21 but fortunately, I got 3rd place in my age division :) I even got a medal! So that kind of made me laugh. Next year I'm in for it because the 25-30 year olds looked really fast. I'm planning on breaking 29 in the Nestle 5k. Come run with me!
