Welcome to little Provo!

We are enjoying Texas and getting all "settled" I suppose. I want to giggle every time someone asks me that because every person I meet eventually says, "So, are you getting all-settled, then?" Daily. I'm serious.

I love wood playgrounds! There are some great parks near our house as well as shopping, groceries mainly come to mind, but other shopping is close as well. Tree-lined streets? Beautiful weather? I know summer will come, and soon, and then I will be barricading myself into my air conditioned tree house but until then the windows are open and the breeze is my friend.

Why little Provo you ask? We live in a new community full of relocators, yes that's a new word, and most of the Latter-day Saint members have moved here from BYU. So of all the moms I meet, a large majority of them graduated from BYU a few years back as well and they are welcoming and friendly. A nice surprise. Thomas and Spencer are meeting many new little boys with fun toys but T does ask to go play with friends and visit parks back in Springville. It's sad because it's hard for Thomas to understand, but things are going really well here. One of the most difficult concepts is the rush from winter into summer and why there is no snow here. He wore snow boots around the house yesterday and wanted to go back to Springville so he could play in the snow! :)


John just started work yesterday, more to follow along that vein.

AND I've been sewing! Mostly pants into shorts, so check back for some pictures and posts about that.

i'm glad ya'll made it to dallas (you'll start hearing that too and then be surprised when you start using it!!) so where are you at then? we're in rockwall. glad to hear ya'll made it and are gettin settled in :)

I'm glad you guys made it safe and sound... and that you are getting settled in. I really envy your jump to summer, it's rainy and cold in Provo these days. Enjoy the sun for me!

Baby Spencer!

Spencer David Wilson was born on Monday at 5:42 am, at American Fork Hospital. A few hours later John and I agreed on a name for him at last. He was 7 pounds, 5.2 ounces, and 20 inches long. He has dark fine baby hair. It is so soft! He has a very red complexion compared with Thomas, and a fuller face and darker hair. My mommy has come to take care of me and we are having a great time in spite of having a flu bug which has gotten to several people unfortunately, including my mom and my sister and Thomas, but not John, Spencer, or me. Everyone is on the mend so we are praying for no more sickness! I delivered with the Mt. Timpanogos Women's Health Center and Claudia was my midwife, and Joanne was my doula and Kimmi my nurse. Karyann my sister, and John were also there and it was a great experience to have such a devoted team! I can't begin to tell you what a completely different experience it was compared with Thomas' birth. Everyone was emotionally there as well ...

Don't you love starburst? http://www.starburst.com/ Yes, this is a promotional blog entry because of how much I love my Grandma and Grandpa, Pinatas and, Starburst! Oh, and money. Once upon a time in the summer of 2009, Paige went on a family reunion trip to the middle of nowhere after which reunion John blogged about life preservers on horseback. (Follow links on the right to read John's blog) Before we returned home to the safety of our own life jacket-less lives, we enjoyed a pinata with the cousins. Hiding behind the tree from which the pinata swung violently, I safely would look out for breakage in the pinata and subsequent candy wreakage on the grass beneath. Finally my moment arrived! Among the 20 grandchildren or so present, I dove into the mass of cousin arms and legs and grabbed at all candy visible and invisible (the candy under Colton when he decided to lay on the stash for its protection). Part 2: The Hospital

Disclaimer: This is my personal record of Spencer's birth. It is the short version, and don't be fooled it is not short. Leaving I knew around 1 or 2 am that I could go to the hospital, but decided I could also wait a little longer, and I didn't say anything. Then when I said, "do you think we should?" to Joanne she said, "Yes" and was all about making that happen right then. We arrived at the hospital just after 3, so it was probably a quarter 'til when we left. She said she would follow John and I over and we loaded up the car. I had a contraction on Main Street and it really hurt and I was pretty worried about having more but the second one I pushed on the roof of the car, and it tucked me into my seat and wasn't so bad. The third one was okay, pushing on the roof didn't help so I tried to relax my arms instead and it was short lived anyway. We parked, and I started walking slowly toward the doors.
