Thanks for visiting the old blog! John uploaded half a million more family videos of the kids to youtube, so go ahead and check them out here or go to john's mrjdwilson channel and check out the uploads. In case you are interested in double stroller reviews, I wrote an extensive one on the Joovy Caboose last post which you are welcome to read. I love having it, especially going into retail stores with narrow aisles. So what's been happening in our lives? I pretty much told you all the new happenings- new baby, new job, new state all to look forward to in a few months. We are getting more and more ready to move to Dallas, but it seems like steps backward. Looking at housing prices and commuter mileage the more research the less I know exactly where I want to plant myself in Texas. I'm not stressed though, we have plenty of time. I've started feeling the baby move in the last week and a half, a pleasant familiar feeling, quite exciting really, but surprisingly unreal at ...

My Review of Caboose

Originally submitted at www.joovy.com Joovy Caboose Stand-On-Tandem Stroller Caboose Good Double Stroller By Pgmstr from Springville, UT on 1/19/2011   4 out of 5 Pros: Durable, Easy To Steer, Lightweight, Easily Stowed, Easy To Setup, Sturdy Cons: Doesn't Clip in Easily Best Uses: Long Trips, Toddlers, Newborn, Short Trips, Infants, Air travel Describe Yourself: Parent of Two or More Children No matter how much I love this stroller I will always love it more because I got a great deal on it. I've had this stroller for almost 2 years, and I'm expecting my 3rd son so I'll be breaking out the car seat part again and I'm really glad I have it. I definitely consider the Joovy indispensable baby gear. I bought this instead of a double umbrella and I also have a jogging stroller, so this is my walking and traveling go to one. I read a million stroller reviews before making this decision and others that seemed cool were more breakable, or gigantic, etc. My kids are 1 ...

Happy New Year y'all!

2010! Gone! Whoosh. Like a speeding train life rushes by. At times we ride the train and looking down at our feet the time seems to stand still, moments we spend looking out the window rush past us like the blurred tops of trees. Thomas and Spencer early 2010 I admit part of the joy and excitement of 2010 is looking forward to 2011. The biggest news this past semester being that John was hired by Pariveda Solutions in Dallas, TX and we'll be moving there in 4 short months. The other little detail of our lives is that we are expecting a baby to arrive there a couple months later. I personally choose this as my excuse for not blogging these past 3 months. I wasn't too overwhelmingly nauseated, but we can pretend it was really really bad, and I couldn't bear to type hardly anything let alone a blog post. Thomas Easter 2010 Thomas and Spencer Nov 2010 In other news (I'll pretend you're still reading this after the big news has been dropped) Thomas has started taking qu...

Here Comes Halloween, There Went Halloween Halloween Halloween Halloween . . .

Lucky for us, we got to decorate sugar cookies with our friends the Madsen's, and go trick or treating by car- I mean train! Hope you enjoyed Halloween as much as we did!

Mahwage

When I was young I believed that marriages failed because of failure to communicate. I thought good communication equaled good marriages. Then I learned the main reason for marriage failure is selfishness. Each example of divorce I've heard of (possibly excluding mental illness) deals in selfishness. Successful marriages begin with selflessness. That said, there is still a heck of a lot to be said for communication. Looking back at my younger self and even younger (tons younger) husband I remember playing guessing games about his likes and his reactions. I wondered what tastes, entertainment, speech, schedule and occupation he would enjoy. When I was frustrated I guessed what he must be thinking and reacted to his actions. Even with straight yes or no answers I was confused at times by his answers to my questions. I could easily choose between selfishness and selflessness in response to things he'd say. If I chose to be offended or wonder how he dare say something th...

Clarity

The matter which brings the greatest joy to me today is that we are no longer sick, and since everyone has been sick, the looming possibility of sick no longer plagues my meditating psyche. As the morning routine creeps up on me and I make my way into the living room to change that baby diaper I want to scream Hallelujah and dance my happy dance that I only change one baby and no longer two each day! Diapers are far from the greatest struggle I face as a mother but I cannot contain my joy at having that work cut in half. I'm trying to get ready for Halloween. And Christmas. I love holidays. The weather is changing. I enjoyed fall. Now my house is freezing cold at 68, the sky is cloudy and I don't know how I can run with two babes in the rain and snow and simultaneously avoid child abuse charges. I love running in the rain. That's a post for another day. Now to clarify. A couple posts ago I sought to express my deeper appreciation and zest for my calling in life. I...

Ralph

My dad emailed this to us last night. Dear John, Paige and Boys: I hear Ralph has come to visit. It is hard to take Grandma leaving me just to be with Ralph. He is nauseating, and has loose bowels. I can't see what Grandma sees in him, and though he makes her feverish he also gives her headaches. I try to keep her away from him but I think her attraction is that when she is around Ralph she loses a few pounds. They are really very different. Ralph makes loud noises, and is the only one she entertains in the bathroom. You will hear strange splashing noises. Then she will emerge, slightly flushed, but feeling better. You might end Grandma's infatuation with Ralph if you could surreptitiously video Grandma entertaining Ralph and post it on Facebook. I would like to be rid of the little puke. There's nothing I'd like more than to hurl him into the toilet like so many chunks of undigested food. It is said Ralph runs in the genes, rather than 1/2 Marathons like Paig...
