I posted last time that I would continue my labor story later "this week" which was a couple weeks ago I believe. I wouldn't lie to you but I admit I have overestimated my abilities! I promise not to leave you hanging much longer. This is a monumental day. Thomas is sleeping in a "big bed" for the first time. He went down for a nap on a twin bed. I was wondering if he would stay in bed, and hoping he would so I didn't want to plant seeds of rebellion by telling him to stay in bed, or else. I decided to just see how it would go. A few short minutes after I laid him down he called out for milk. That's a good sign, I think, since he could have gotten out of bed and come for the milk himself. My in-laws just left. They were here this week for Thanksgiving, and they took us shopping yesterday, hence Thomas' "big bed." They were very generous and I feel like it is Christmas morning every time I look around my house. Beautiful natural li...

Baby Spencer!

Spencer David Wilson was born on Monday at 5:42 am, at American Fork Hospital. A few hours later John and I agreed on a name for him at last. He was 7 pounds, 5.2 ounces, and 20 inches long. He has dark fine baby hair. It is so soft! He has a very red complexion compared with Thomas, and a fuller face and darker hair. My mommy has come to take care of me and we are having a great time in spite of having a flu bug which has gotten to several people unfortunately, including my mom and my sister and Thomas, but not John, Spencer, or me. Everyone is on the mend so we are praying for no more sickness! I delivered with the Mt. Timpanogos Women's Health Center and Claudia was my midwife, and Joanne was my doula and Kimmi my nurse. Karyann my sister, and John were also there and it was a great experience to have such a devoted team! I can't begin to tell you what a completely different experience it was compared with Thomas' birth. Everyone was emotionally there as well ...

Surprise!

Since John and I are so romantically inclined toward one another it should come as no surprise that my DH said to me the other day, "I bought you a present." In my marriage complacency I overlooked the possibility of gifts in November, a personal blemish which I will remedy shortly. I soon thereafter received an email announcing that a gift has been purchased for me off of my baby registry! So I pretty much knew what he had purchased, but I made sure not to click any links or check out the registry so it could remain "secret" ish. He told me, afterall, not to "snoop around." Imagine my amazement when this package arrived! Last time I checked there are no point and shoots on my baby registry. Husband you are awesome! I love you! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Immediate gratification is the pulse of today, and the PowerShot SD960 IS Digital ELPH with its streamlined appeal wastes no time at reminding you. "Here's a camera unlike any other....

Thomas Video! and Baby Arrival Poll!

Well I'm so lazy, and tired and pregnant that you must go to John's blog if you want updates. No I'm kidding, really life is practically perfect during the day, and then impossibly painful at night. And just when I thought I couldn't take another night of pregnancy, last night wasn't so bad, so now I should give tonight a fair chance, and not procrastinate going to sleep until 1 am so I won't have to be in bed very long. I'm happy to announce that we have taken more movies of Thomas finally and John posted some on his blog, so go here to watch Thomas in action! And for some additional fun, go ahead and post your best guess of 1- the date and time baby will arrive and 2- his height and weight! My official due date is Nov. 8th. Thomas was 3 days late, weighing 7 pounds, 20 inches.

A Pregnant Post by Paige about Pregnancy

Here's the belly progression: 6 Months 8.5 Months Warning! This post may contain personal musings about pregnancy. It may read like a journal. It may contain baby excitement and overall feelings of joy. So I have been stepping on things lately. Mostly toys. How is this possible, you ask? Those of you familiar with my adroit walking skills may be puzzled at this point. I know I was until I took a shower this morning. And I couldn't see my feet at all; not a hint of them, no toes, nothing, not even when leaning forward could I see anything but a belly button sun on the horizon of a large earth belly. And that is why I've been stepping on things. Thomas' toy hammer, a plastic giraffe, the zipper of John's coat . . . The loss of my peripheral vision going down is apparently complete. I can't see where I am stepping! What a frightening feeling. I have also been walking into common household objects with my belly. Doorknobs and chairs. Major medial disco...

Confessions of a Housewife

My kitchen is clean. I have been cleaning it twice a day. I walk in, I empty the dishwasher. Then I start loading it, easy clean dishes first. Then I keep cleaning and wha-lah! Cleanliness. It's really not that hard. I repeat, "IT IS NOT HARD!" What has brought about this amazing shift in my behavior? Maybe I like having a clean kitchen. Or I am nesting. Perhaps I'm paranoid if I can't keep a house clean with one child, I will fail dismally with two. It may be that I feel bad for my DH when I see him stressed with school. Or that I am intimidated by the moms of many who keep immaculate homes, and then apologize profusely because it's "disgusting." ("Just look at the floor . . . I've only vacuumed twice today. . .") In any case, I feel like a new woman. If you cleaned your kitchen today you have my respect.
